Montage
Basically it's a silly video montage of little clips of Logan
fighting all set to music. This came about while trying to get familiar
with the new software that came with an HP DVD burner. Things have
changed and now we are able capture straight from the new camcorder so hopefully
we can get more videos up in smaller formats.
A few
things about this video though, it is set to music and the two songs on the
video are "Bodies" by Drowning Pool and "Bring Your Whole Crew" by DMX.
These are two of the best "fight songs" out there. The video is
work safe but the audio might not be. Its about 350MB and I doubt it will
stream from my server so it might be best to simply download it. Anyway, if you find
expletives objectionable it would be best to mute your sound before running this

Best of the Known World (Pennsic 30)
This is the tape from my camera (sorry it's heavy on my
fights) from the Best of the Known World Tourney held during Pennsic 30.
The video is work safe and is about 529MB. I doubt it will stream from my

Coronation of Valharic II and
Arielle III (2007)
Logan vs Roisin
This is a short video of Duke Logan fighting with Lady Roisin (now Sir) from Northshield in some pick up fights. We first fought at a practice I attended in Milwaukee earlier in 2007. She is a lot of fun to fight and gives you everything she can. If you get a chance to fight with Roisin you need to take the opportunity. TRMS had a quest that involved various characters of Roman mythology. Logan was playing the part of Mars, god of war and Roisin was playing the part of Minerva. There was little going on at the onset of the quest and Roisin wandered around looking for a fight. Big surprise!! Click here to begin: Roisin
Coronation of Valharic II and
Arielle III (2007)
Questing team vs Mars and others
At coronation TRMS asked there to be a quest with various fighters playing various characters. I was asked to play the part of Mars, god of war and was wearing an all red outfit. The role of demi-gods Phobos and Deimos were played by Sir Kael and Lord (now Sir!) Rousel. We found HRM Valharic's squire Cyriac wandering about looking for a fight with his pole arm so we invited the "mortal" to join us. My job, as Mars, was to challenge questing teams in their martial attempts. They were attempting to get to Venus in order to complete the quest. Click here to begin: Party
Tournament of Chivalry (2007)
This is a
compilation of many different fights
from the day. Most of them were from the list that was manned by Duke
Logan, Sir (now Count) Sinclair, and Sir Kael. Other Knights visited our list to join in
on the fun. I am missing some names so please drop me an email with those
and I will update this page as soon as I can. These are fairly large files
that will try to stream if you simply click on them. It might work for you
but I would suggest right clicking the links on the left and saving the files to
view them.
Some of them appear a little choppy for me when I download them, not sure why.
Also, it seems that if you click on the link and pause the playback as it starts
it will stream without any issues.

Spring Crown (2007)
Overall the list was a small one for Atlantia.
In total there were only 17 combatants this year. Many theories abound as
to why the numbers were as low as they were and, in the end, it doesn't matter.
The format was double elimination with no weapons restrictions or demands.
That, in my opinion, is the way lists should be and I am glad Their Majesties
choose that for Their Crown. I will, and always have, do the same for mine. I
decided to just put the entire video up as one file since it is pretty small
(only 58 MB). This is video from my camera and only contains the fights I
was in. If people send me additional videos from the event I will post
them here as well.
Again, it might try to stream but I would recommend a right click, save as, option as the best one. Overall the field was great, the weather was cool and cloudy with a slight breeze, and the list was appealing to the eye. To view the video click here: Crown
Feast of St. Hermengild (2007)
Small event with only a few fighters present.
We had several guests from Meridies that came over to feel the horror that
Atlantian fighting is with all of our crazy hard hitting and rhino ways.
They all had a great time and were shown that the rumor mill has, yet again,
proven to be a giant boobfest. They all did well and seemed to have
no issues meeting our standards. It was a pleasure hosting them. The
video is sparse and sometimes shaky as my videographer was busy juggling her phone with calls from her realtor so she
missed a good deal of the fighting. This one clip is of one of the grand
melees in which a new fighter was sent in every 15 seconds or so. To view

Sapphire Joust (2007)
This is a
compilation of many different fights
from the day. Some of these are fairly large files
that will try to stream if you simply click on them. It might work for you
but I would suggest right clicking the links on the left and saving the files to
view them.
It was a terribly hot day but there was still good turn
out of fighters (79 I think). Sapphire is Atlantia's largest event and one
that usually proves to be a great few days of fighting. Originally this
event was called Diamond Joust. Then, after 10 years, it was renamed
Emerald Joust. Now it's Sapphire Joust, at least for the next few years.
I have enjoyed the "Gem Jousts" greatly and like it when we just keep it simple
and spend the weekend on the field. The field proved tricky at times due to a
lot of tractor traffic the week earlier from another event held on the site.
And, I am terrible with names so some of those are missing. If anyone has
a correction please send it to me. I wont change the video but I can, at
least, correct it here.

Wastelands Tourney (2007)
Response to this video page has been awesome and
the resources here seem to be appreciated. I am going to try a new format
in which I do away with putting text on the video and simply list them here
since this allows me to get the fighters names correct. If you have a
correction to anything listed here simply drop me an email and let me know the
event name and the fight number.
This tourney was basically some kind of token tourney. I'm not really sure
what the format is supposed to accomplish but we were each given 5 little
tokens. The loser gave a token to his better and the winner would be
determined by whomever had the greatest number of tokens at the end. I hate
tourneys like this since they usually involve challenges and I do not believe in
"challenging down". Since His Majesty had to leave shortly after the
tourney started I had to rely on people challenging me since, as Prince, there
was nobody "above" me to challenge. Makes for a crappy day. I was
lucky though that Atlantia is a kingdom steeped in fighting and courage.
So I got a few challenges during the day and enjoyed all of them greatly.

Toys for Tots Tourney (2006)
This was a small tourney held to benefit the toys
for tots drive the Marine Corps holds around the winter holidays. The
format is basically a series of weapons specific tourneys being a weapon shield,
dual weapon, pole weapon, and great weapon. The winner of each tourney
then meet in the finals for a round robin to determine the overall winner.
Should you win more than one of the lists you choose which weapons form you want
to use in the finals and the second place fighter from the duplicate list gets
to fight in the finals. Small tourneys can be fun and this one was no
exception. After a few requests for higher quality video I decided to bump
these up a bit. The files are a lot larger than previous videos on this
site and they may not stream well depending on your connection speed, the volume
of traffic my site is getting, and your video card. If they don't stream
well I would suggest a right click, save file, option.

Feast of Saint Hermingild (2006)
Just trying to get some of these tapes uploaded.
This was a small tourney held in SC. Again with the matched weapons
formats, the first one being pole weapons. I made an axe for it that was,
shall we say, a bit stout. The site was nice and the fighting was pretty
good overall. And again, these are larger files to improve the quality of
the videos. I am sick of youtube videos and how horrid they look so I made
these larger. Be patient and give them a second to load. Sorry none
of the other fighters got taped in this one.

Pennsic (2008)
We got very little single combat videos at
Pennsic this year and of those only the Champions fights were clear enough to
post. The first fight in the Champions battle pitted Duke Lucan of the
East against Duke Edmund of the Middle. They fought with great axes and
right after their fight it was discovered that the battery on the camera had not
been charged and only held 15% of the battery life. Unfortunately that made
it impossible to tape all of the fights as we had originally planned. So
only the first fight and my fight got taped. I am hoping someone got all
of them taped and I can get a copy to put here since YouTube videos typically
suck for quality and there were some excellent fights that day.

Atlantian ToC (2006)
This is a short video of one of the four
lists held at our Tournament of Chivalry. Each list had a few Knights that
fought all comers and each Knight stayed in for no more than three rounds.
This list had Dukes Cuan, Logan, and Ragnarr, as well as Sir Christian. It
is worth a few looks as there is a bunch of other fighting in the background
worth watching. One of the other lists (back right) was an off weapons
list. To view the video click here:

Fighter Practice September (2008)
Small practice held at the house.
Not a lot to see but it was a fun, yet very hot, day (until I got cracked in the
thumb!!) This came about last minute because a local event was canceled
due to a hurricane and a friend of ours was travelling up from Meridies to do
some fighting. After the last minute cancellation we offered a get
together at our place and videoed some of the fighting. To view the video

Spring Crown (2008)
Crown Tourney was held at a small, but
usable, site in NC. This list was fairly small but full of some of
Atlantia's top fighters. Standard format with nothing out of the ordinary.
As with most of the videos on this site it was taken with my camera so it has
mostly my fights in it. Although this also has all the finals and despite
the battery dying yet again (I really need to find a long lasting battery!!)
it was nice enough to wait until the very end of a tough series of fights. Again, it might try to stream but I
would recommend a right click, save as, option as the best one. To view the video click here:

Hartsville Library Demo (2008)
One of Atlantia's newest cantons,
Brockshore Abbey, had its second demo at their local library's "medieval days"
fund raiser. The turnout was impressive with fighters, artisans,
equestrians, rapier, and eager volunteers. For such a young new group it
was impressive to see how much work they are putting into the SCA. We
started a round robin tourney with the fifteen fighters on hand. Due to
time constraints the MiC called it off after four rounds and pitted the three
undefeated fighters at the end in a mini round robin to determine the tourney
winner. After that we did a number of small team melees and ended the day
with an every man for himself grand melee. It was a fun day of fighting
and socializing. To view the video click here:

Fall Crown (2008)
Crown was held at a pretty awesome site.
The weather could have been colder, at least in my opinion, but it was clear and
cool. This was one of the smallest lists we have had in a long time.
There were only 12 entrants of which 11 showed to compete. Regardless the
fighting was stout and pretty competitive. Their Majesties chose a format
the included a best of three fights in each round and a final that was
best three of five with no weapons formats being repeated. Basically that
means the lower ranked fighter chose the first weapon, the higher chose the
second, and so on. If it was going to go to a fifth fight each fighter
would "bring his best". Again, this is the video from our camera, if
anyone has any other video please contact Duke Logan if you want to have it
posted here. To view the video click here:

Something Completely Horrible (2008)
First I must apologize for the sight you are about
to see. Some friends of ours who shall remain nameless (although their
names ryhme with Travis and Lou) thought it would be cute to release a tape of
the Knights of Clan Ebonwoulfe dancing in a festive holiday setting. Since
it is bound to make it on the internet anyway I thought we would just share it
here. EbonElves

Candlemas (2009)
The Middle Kingdom's big annual event. This year saw somewhere around 80

I apologize for the dead areas. Still, some good fights with lots of
different fighters. To view the video click here:
Candlemas
Feast of Saint Genevieve (2009)
This was a small event held in SC that featured a "Bedford Points Tourney" which
is one of my favorite formats. If you are not familiar with this format
its fairly simple. First round is a blind draw, each round after that is
paired by points. The fighters fight first to two wins and are awarded
points depending on the outcome. 2/0 gains 10 points 2/1 gains
7 points and 3 points respectivly. In the case of a third fight that ends
with a "double kill" they will each gain 5 points. The round ends as soon
as someone has two victories so, for example, if Bob wins the first fight
against Tom and they "double kill" in the second fight Bob gains 7 points and
Tom gains 3.
After the first round you simply match up bouts based on points (or as close as you can). So, by the fourth round or so you will have essencially three tiers (high, med, low) and will be unable to match exact point totals. You can also mix cards up if two opponents have already fought. We usuall try for seven rounds but this is a very tiring format since you will be fighting someone at, or around, your skill level in every round after the first. That is also the reason why this is one of the best formats going. Credit for bringing the format to us goes to Duke Michael of Bedford who created a variation of a popular card game tournament format.

Tourney of the Golden Rose (06/13/2009)
Atlantia's first Roses tourney. Ladies in the
Order of the Rose chose teams comprised of an archer, herald, fencer, knight,
and two unbelted fighter to fight as a team. The knights agree to fight
something other than their primary weapons form, matching weapons. It was
a very hot day and everyone had a great time. Some of the heralds in the
procession were quite amusing and can be found on YouTube if you search for
"golden rose". It is worth a look! Still injured I was stuck behind
the camera all day (which made me go nuts) and I apologize for my
over-chattiness during some of the fights.

Training Videos
I have been asked many times over the years to make some training videos. Well, for what they are worth here they are. These are simply my techniques and they work for me and my students. They may, or may not, work for you and they cost you nothing!!! If you have any questions, comments, or requests drop me an email. I will add to these if there is any interest in them or if I get any requests that I can address.

The Knightings of the Clan
Ebonwoulfe
Currently there are four Knights in the lineage of Duke Logan Ebonwoulfe. Below are videos of their Knighting ceremonies as well as the Knighting of His Grace, Duke Logan. The Knighting of a fighter is but the start of a new journey within the SCA. It is a ceremony that marks new beginnings and new challenges. The Knights of this Clan each have their own unique identities and provide their own flavors to the overall Clan through their respective Houses. The path to Knighthood is one filled with trials and triumphs, tests and failures, accomplishments and dissatisfactions. Together Knights stand as brothers throughout the SCA. These men stand also as family.
